Job Description

We are looking for a certified and insured massage therapist to join our team. The job requires performing the services on our menu, greeting guests, processing payments, treatment room care, laundry, and keeping our spa at our current high standard.

About us:

Sage Massage and Acupuncture is located in downtown Grand Lake, Colorado, a beautiful historic village.  Grand Lake, surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park, is a popular destination in the summer with vacationers, hikers and water sport enthusiasts.  A bit quieter in the winter, our area is enjoyed by snowmobilers, cross country skiers and  snow shoers.  Our Massage Spa provides high quality massage and acupuncture services and is looking for a Spa Assistant to join our professional team. We believe in developing our team, and encourage new ideas. With enthusiasm and dedication to hard work there are opportunities for advancement. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter who will put the client first and work hard to elevate our spa.

Summary

The Spa Assistant is responsible for welcoming all guests entering the Massage Spa, cordially answering phone calls and promptly replying to client texts and emails. The Spa Assistant will also check out clients by processing payments, rebooking, and selling retail products. Responsibilities will also include keeping the Massage Spa pristine, clean, and inviting. The Spa Assistant Is not responsible for assisting with any services.

This is a part-time position with the potential for growth.

Responsibilities

• Be on time for shift and maintain consistent, regular attendance record
• Properly open spa each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Accurately book, change and cancel spa appointments.
• Acknowledge and greet everyone  in a friendly manner who enters and leaves the spa.
• Ensure that the check-in, check-out and payment process is handled in accordance with company policy
• Provide callers and guests with detailed descriptions of spa treatments and benefits.
• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
• Must possess basic math skills to count back change verbally to customer
• Answer the phone promptly and use the guest’s name throughout the phone conversation
• Timely communication with guests through calls, texts, and emails
• Maximize guest experience
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
• Maintain a clean; safe, fully stocked and well organized work area.
• Laundry, rotate and fold linens in orderly manner
• Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment; inform management when stock is low.
• Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming waiting room
• Maintain pristine appearance of all mirror and window surfaces
• Daily cleaning and maintain tightness of single stall shared bathroom with team
• Must be able to work without constant direct supervision
• Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Customer Service, ideally within a Hotel or Spa environment
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask
• Must have enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
• Friendly communication skills and the ability to interact positively with clients and therapists
• Navigate multiple customers at once
• Manage time and prioritize customer’s needs
• Basic keyboard and computer skills to book appointments, navigate booking software, and process payments
• Must be a team player
• Available Thursday thru Sunday during peak summer season
• Must be able to bend, crouch, and lift
• Spa services use aromatherapy, tolerant of scents is requested
• Our Massage Spa is a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and alcohol-free environment
• Our Massage Spa requires clean dress and hygiene. If requested, a uniform top will be provided for you.
